Philip Weiss is a software engineer on the Metric Infrastructure team at Airbnb, where he works on Airbnb’s metrics platform, Minerva. Philip focuses on building tooling to help metric producers quickly author, validate, backfill, and iterate on Metrics. He has also led GDPR compliance and cost reduction efforts for Airbnb’s data infrastructure. Philip holds a bachelors and masters degree in Computer Science from Stanford University.
In this talk I will go through 10 problems airbnb faced that led us to building a metrics platform.I will also go through the design/ capabilities of Minerva, airbnb's metrics platform, and discuss how they solve these problems.The goal is for you to recognize these problems within your own organization, and use our solutions as inspirations for your own....
